Boundary conditions

Boundary conditions can be chosen with several possibilities:

Fixed or elastic edge supports anywhere in the pane are possible. Contact conditions for lifting corners can be chosen; structural glazing; spacers for insulating glass units; additional supporting beams or complex point fixings like countersunk fittings, balustrade clips or downholders at the borders can be located freely.

Pre-definitions are stored within a data base and new fixings can be added with new mechanical properties. So you can directly select and locate these fixings for multiple use.

There are 11 different kinds of fixings possible:

  • counter sunk fixing, also for DGU
  • disk fixings (double sided), also for DGU
  • circular clamps
  • angular clamps
  • circular downholder
  • angular downholder
  • bonded disk (without a generated hole)
  • countersunk fixing with covering glass panel
  • countersunk fixings for DGU (clamping inner panel only)
  • disk fixing for DGU (clamping inner panel only)
  • new clamp of any shape freely designable

You only have to choose the kind of the fixing, the contact conditions and the position - anything else will be done automatically.

All point fixings are meshed automatically, only depending on the given parameter for size and the mechanical bearing behavior. (e.g. rubber separators)

The mesh quality only depends upon the chosen global mesh size and is refined around the point fixings.

New parametric clamp holder

This new type 11 is a freely adjustable clamp that can be used to create any contours including edge protection, grooves, holes and bolts. This clamp fixings can also be used to connect several glass structures, e.g. to create column connectors, connecting balustrades by clamps or connecting façade elements. This means that even complex components consisting of several components can now be attached together.

The database already contains a large number of templates that can be customized using parameters such as width, depth and hole radius.

These clamps can now be positioned anywhere. The input surface shows their exact position and alignment perpendicular to the edge of the pane.

If the clamps are connected to the ground, this can be described by the spring stiffness. However, it would be possible to apply bar connections or loads to the clamp or point fixings.

All point and clamping fixings are automatically integrated into the system with their mechanical properties. Groove cut-outs with the corresponding separating layers are installed automatically.

The mesh quality only depends on the one selected mesh size and is automatically refined in the area of the point and clamp fixings.
