Fixings may be set at any position you want. You only have to select a point fixing of needed shape (taper shaft, disk, edge clamps, bonded disk or the new clamps of any shape type 11) from the database. This selection can then be located at any x-y position.

That's all. No mesh generation by hand is needed!

You can pre-define your own often used fixings, not to key in the geometrical data every time anew.

All fixings can be connected by springs with translation and rotational rigidities. In addition, they can be fixed with a bar, which one end is attached to a wall or loaded directly by applied forces.

The new type 11 can be used to create any type of clamp holder. Here is a selection of some preset clamps that can be placed anywhere.

The finite element mesh is also generated automatically and refined locally.

The procedure is the same as for the edge description of the geometry. To make input easier, a lot of parameterised clamp holder templates are already included using dimensions (A, B,...).

Regard, that a glass pane only supported by fixings must also be fixed in a statically determined manner. Unstable behaviour may arise, when contacts conditions are chosen and the pane can detach (e.g. if the pane could be pulled out of a clamp) or when the clamp itself is not connected and could freely move.
